Does COVID-19 have a greater impact on the lungs of the human body?

How Covid-19 Affects Our Body Parts

Viruses are constantly evolving, resulting in the emergence of new mutations or strains of the virus. While Covid-19’s behavior is usually unaffected by a variant, changes in the virus can make it behave in various ways at times. Scientists worldwide are tracking these changes to determine how Covid variants spread, how they affect our health, and how effective vaccines are against them.

Coronaviruses and Covid-19

Coronaviruses are classified into four subgroups: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. Covid-19, caused by SARS-CoV-2, is a new coronavirus strain that was first reported in Wuhan, China in December 2019. The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a significant loss of human life worldwide and poses an unparalleled threat to public health, food systems, and the workplace.

Symptoms of Covid-19

Symptoms of Covid-19 can occur two to fourteen days after exposure. Common symptoms include fever, loss of taste and smell, cough, tiredness, and difficulty breathing or shortness of breath. Less common symptoms include muscle aches, chills, sore throat, runny nose, headache, chest pain, conjunctivitis, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and rash.

Treatment for Covid-19

If you have minor symptoms and think you can recover at home, rest and drink fluids. Monitor your symptoms and call your doctor if they worsen. If you have fundamental Covid-19 symptoms, seek medical care at a health facility right away. Wear a mask when traveling to and from the hospital and during medical treatment.

Precautions for Covid-19

To prevent the spread of Covid-19, maintain social distancing, wash your hands frequently, wear a mask, stay home if you feel unwell, and avoid excessive travel and large numbers of people. By following these precautions, we can all do our part to stop the spread of Covid-19 and protect ourselves and others.
